Las Vegas is a quite unique place to visit. It never ceases to impress, and attracts a huge number of visitors each year. The most interesting thing about Las Vegas, some say, lies in the extensive gambling that can be done while there. The city boasts a large number of casinos, and very famous ones at that. Most people have probably seen one or two of these casinos in various Hollywood movies such as Oceans 11, Honeymoon in Vegas and Rain Man.
So, if you are a gamble, head for Vegas. However, Las Vegas is so much more than just playing roulette and Black Jack. The city is a true experience in itself with its magnificent boulevards, water fountains and, most of all, the myriad of people walking its streets. Hotels are rarely considered an attraction, but in Las Vegas this changes. Here, hotels are indeed larger than life and many of these establishments are landmarks well worth seeing, complete with monuments and replicas of famous places on the planet. A room in one of these places doesn’t come cheap, however, so be prepared to spare some extra cash on accommodation.
Nightlife in Las Vegas is more than OK. In fact, it is astonishing! You have got an array of night clubs, restaurants and similar hangouts to keep you going for days on end. Yes, it really is that exciting! There are, furthermore, plenty of restaurants and eateries throughout the city. From hamburgers to Asian food, there is a treat for everyone. Famous restaurant chains such as Hard Rock Café are always a popular choice for drinks and delicious food.
The area around Las Vegas is made up entirely of Nevada desert. Exploring the countryside is therefore a bad idea, since there is really nothing to see! Better stick to the city where all the action is. Las Vegas shows its best after dark, when all the clubs and night life kick in!
